HMRC Compliance Visit Workshop
HMRC’s SCP (Single Compliance Process) for submitting enquiries were recently changed to allow for issues to be dealt with in shorter time frames but many have struggled with the new system. Although it is more open and simplistic in it’s structure the guidelines may prove a challenge for HMRC staff members and also for advisors to provide answers to questions in such a short space of time. In the meantime the SCP trial is being carried out as a kind of HMRC Compliance Visit Workshop for tax agents to get acquainted with the new system.
Enquiries will be dealt with in these average time frames under the new compliance process:
- Level 1 – 1.5 days
- Level2 – 2days
- Level 3 – 4days
- Level 4 – 8days
The 5 stages of the SCP (Single Compliance Process) are as follows:
- Planning – HMRC Compliance Visit Workshop aims
- Contact
- Process
- Resolve
- Close
